On Thursday, June 18th, Spitzer Technology Consulting attended the Entrepreneur and Small Business Resource Fair hosted by Mt Hood Community College. The yearly event, organized by the campus’s Small Business Development Center, is designed to support businesses at every stage. Exhibitors included local municipalities, federally funded economic engine programs, credit unions, and support service providers.
Jon Bebe, the district 1 liaison from Portland’s Office of Small Business, led a morning panel on “Building A Business Team.” Jon asked participants to imagine a fictional manufacturing business at various points of growth. Jon then led the group through an exploration of this venture’s financial, legal, and technical needs over ten years of business.
Robin Wang of Vibrant Future LLC addressed questions about finding initial funding and accessing working capital. Ashley McDonald from Focal Law spoke to common concerns regarding employment law, litigation protection, and corporate designations. Our own David Spitzer rounded out the panel, talking about websites, cybersecurity, software subscriptions, and hardware investments.
The audience was full of business owners and business dreamers of every age. Thoughtful questions were asked of every panel member, including a surprising addition from a pair of pre-teen twins who wanted to know how they could secure grant funds for their first venture.
Events like these remind small business owners that they do not have to tackle every problem alone. There are professional service providers here to support you, so you can focus on what you do best. SpitzerTech was honored to be included in such an important community event. We were founded with the goal of bringing enterprise-level support to the smallest organizations, because everyone deserves to feel at ease with their technology.
